About the Role
W2 Position. Pet stylist provides grooming services for dogs completing haircuts and finishing out baths. Dogs will be bathed and blow dried for you by our bathers, though in special circumstances you may have to bathe dogs if necessary. Job functions will include clipper work, scissor work, nail trimming and filing, ear plucking and cleaning, bathing, blow drying, gland expression, teeth brushing, teeth cleaning, deshedding, dematting, record keeping, checking clients in and out, answering phones, booking clients, cleaning up dog poop and pee, cleaning and assisting coworkers when needed. Communication, honesty, and transparency with clients is very important to our salon image and are necessary to maintain the level of care we provide and trust our clients have in us. We are looking to fill the closing groomer position who will perform closing duties along with the closing bather Monday - Wednesday (we close at 6pm those days). Closing duties to include, after finishing appointments, responding to messages left on phone voicemails, closing cleaning, and locking up. Friday and Saturday we are only open 8am - 5pm and multiple employees will work until closing and assist with closing duties.

Pay: Hourly pay with production bonus and tips
Holidays Off: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend, 2 weeks off for Christmas at the end of the year
Continued Education: Continued education is important and opportunities that are approved will be covered by our employee education budget each year.
Additionally: You may bring your own pet to work with you at the discretion of the owner/manager. Pet must do well around other pets in a day care like atmosphere. Must be evaluated and approved by owner/manager. Owner/manager has the right to change this decision at their discretion.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience as a professional dog groomer
Advanced scissoring skills - our salon specialty is the classic drop coat style found in Notes From The Grooming Table pg. 602-604
Knowledge of breed standard cuts and patterns
Average of 7-8 dogs done per day (bathers provided to bathe dogs)
Employees must have the physical strength and ability to lift a pet or other object weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance. Must be able to assist in lifting pets or other objects weighing more than 30 pounds.
Necessary skills/knowledge: time management, teamwork, customer service, communication, following directions, knowing when to ask for assistance, dog handling, dog behavior, consistency, promptness and cleanliness
No health issues that would impede the ability to perform the job functions

Our Pet Stylists are titled as such because the main style in our salon is not shave downs, but more often styling the dogs cut to fit its body with guard comb cuts to the natural lay of the coat with fuller or column style legs.
